Happy New Years!
Wow, I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since 1990 now. For some reason, that just sounds crazy to me.
Had my first new year’s kiss, if that’s anything to blog about? Haha I spent my night at Sean’s house, and he doesn’t see “New Years” like I do. I’m honestly relieved to start off new.. who doesn’t sometimes just want to hit a giant RESTART button or just go somewhere where nobody knows your name? This is as close as it gets for me. For now, at least. It’s a time for changing for the better, or at least telling yourself that you will. “But not many stick to their resolutions anyway,” my boyfriend reminds me. And he’s absolutely right. I just like to live in an optimistic mindset, I guess.
My resolutions are -
- Become serious about school again; actually read my AP Bio & Psych chapters
- Learn to like people again, and maybe stop being so crowded in my own beliefs
- To get more serious about my future (although I really am already) - apply for more scholarships
- Get more into my Filipino culture; learning Tagalog would be lovely.
- Work on cheering - better flying and nail my backhandspring
- Get more sleep; as you can already tell by reading my posts, I don’t get any.
It’s a lot to take on, but hey, I’ve always been an overachiever.
This year has probably been the most memorable yet - growing up, realizing the people I need in my life, learning what heartbreak feels like, picking up new things and putting down things I don’t.. it’s all become a mess, though. So with this new year, I truly hope that it treats everyone a little better than the last. Goodbye, 2009.
you’re like an indian summer in the middle of winter
Ah, just woke up not too long ago. This Christmas was definitely the most interesting of them all - started off as Hell and me telling my father that I didn’t consider us a family, ended with my boyfriend and I sharing the perfect moment together. He really did turn my holidays around. There was moments of tension with my aunt that I’m not too fond of, hide and seek with my baby cousins (Champion, might I add), a split up in dinner tables, etc.
Though there were tears and trauma, I was really satisfied by the end of the night. Sean was happy with his gift selection from me that included an authentic black and white yellow Gameboy. He told me that I made this his best Christmas ever, and that was enough to make me happy. Seeing how things don’t always work out with his family, giving him a great Christmas was all I wanted this year. When we dropped him off, we read letters to eachother and he smoothly gave me a ring.

Touchscreen computer my grandmother bought my parents and I. LOVE.
I am now very happy that my day consists of fulfilling my Tropical Smoothie withdrawals and shopping with my mother. The night brings a promised Chuck E. Cheese excursion with my babies, something that is long overdue (a year and a half to be exact).
With the way things have been going, I honestly have no clue what the New Years will bring.
